Staff Accountant
Job Description
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Record day-to-day financial transactions/journal entries and complete the posting process.
2. Record bank transactions daily i.e. transfers and cleared checks.
3. Reconcile sales/severance taxes, payroll taxes and bank accounts at the end of the month.
4. Process Accounts Payable and Purchase Orders daily.
5. Process Accounts Receivable/billing daily.
6. Assist in monitoring Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
7. Assist with inventory valuation at month-end.
8. Monitor payroll and payroll deposits using accounting software and provide backup for payroll processing when required.
9. Assist in preparation, review and understanding of monthly reports, month-end working papers and yearend working papers. Provide all necessary information to the CPA firm on a timely basis for them to provide the month-end journal entries and reports.
10. Assist in preparing financial analysis and ad hoc reports for corporate.
11. Identify financial risks.
12. Provide support in budget preparation and expense management activities. 13. Coordinate with management in financial analysis and planning operations. 14. Generate financial reports to management in timely and accurate manner.
15. Maintain accounting control parameters and recommend improvements to current control procedures.
16. Work with Auditors in performing financial audits.
17. Provide financial guidance to office staff when needed.
18. Participate in team meetings to discuss financial results and issues.

Libby was born in Mississippi, moved around a bit, and returned to graduate from Morton High School and attend Ole Miss. After beginning part-time work in high school with her father’s medical practice, she continued in the medical field for the next 20 years. She has worked in a management role in multiple settings including hospital, homecare, private practice, and as a consultant in software transition for hospitals. Libby spent the last several years at home raising her boys and currently lives in Kosciusko with her husband and children.
Libby joined PSG in June 2021 and has a robust background in vetting and hiring medical professionals for all settings. Although new to staffing she is a pro at finding highly motivated and qualified employees for the medical and clerical fields.
